Quanta exoTrader Algorithm Metrics

Navigation

Metrics are exoTrader’s verification layer. They indicate whether the strategy is operating with the intended balance of signal quality, risk control and execution discipline.

Outcome Verification Framework

Use metrics to answer four practical questions:

  1. Is execution cadence healthy?
  2. Is risk and exposure contained?
  3. Is signal quality translating into acceptable PnL quality?
  4. Is runtime behaviour stable and observable?

1) Performance and PnL Metrics

Core views include:

  • realised and unrealised PnL context,
  • aggregate PnL quality,
  • break-even distance and position economics,
  • partial-sell and full-sell outcome behaviour.

Interpret performance with fees, regime context and exposure state in mind.

2) Capital and Volume Metrics

Core views include:

  • buy-side and sell-side volume,
  • total cycle volume,
  • profit-from-volume style efficiency ratios,
  • net investment and drawdown context.

These indicate whether turnover is productive and policy-aligned.

3) Risk and Quality Metrics

Core views include:

  • break-even and profitable-unit context,
  • max buy drawdown count,
  • gain-threshold execution outcomes,
  • trend-protection and gating behaviour.

These metrics show if risk controls are functioning under live conditions.

4) Operational Metrics

Core views include:

  • refresh speed,
  • code processing time,
  • last API call,
  • state continuity and persistence health.

Operational degradation should be treated as a control issue, not only a performance issue.

Practical Review Order

  1. Check operational health first.
  2. Check risk and gating behaviour second.
  3. Check capital/volume efficiency third.
  4. Check PnL quality last.

This order reduces false conclusions during volatile periods.

Metrics support decisions; they do not guarantee outcomes.
